Naturalization

Naturalization has been a concern of citizens that have been impacted by some of the areas chosen. In late July I was able to meet with our City Manager to learn more about the process and express concerns residents had about its implementation.   He explained that reversing this process that was passed by previous Council will be very expensive and could be considered but significant justification would need to exist. Having heard that reversing naturalization would be so costly I feel the best way to approach this issue was to examine how areas of naturalization were decided. While researching this I noticed that their decision matrix was missing several concerns that citizens have voiced.  I have sent the city manager recommended changes to the decision matrix to include your concerns such as rodents, predatory animals, weeds and loss of park space to be included if this program is revisited. I am excited to continue this kind of work as your City Councillor.
